1️⃣ Energy Meter Integration with DCN (ESP32)
Overview

The DCN integrates with the EM2M & EM368 Select Energy Meter to collect electrical parameters using RS485 Modbus RTU communication. The ESP32 periodically polls the energy meter and stores readings for reporting and analytics and setting page to configure

Communication Architecture

Controller: ESP32

Protocol: Modbus RTU

Physical Layer: RS485

Baud Rate: Configurable (Default 9600)

Slave Address: Configurable

Data Acquisition

ESP32 polls the energy meter registers to acquire:

Parameter Description
Voltage (L1, L2, L3) Phase voltage readings
Current (L1, L2, L3) Load current through CT
Active Power (kW) Real power consumption
Reactive Power (kVAR) Reactive power
Apparent Power (kVA) Apparent load
Power Factor System efficiency
Frequency Supply frequency
Energy (kWh) Total energy consumed

ESP32 Firmware Tasks
Initialize RS485 UART communication

Poll registers at configurable intervals
Validate CRC of Modbus frames
Convert raw register data to engineering values
Store readings in DCN data buffer
Forward data for report generation and graph logging
